About

Wisconsin Track Club was founded in 1991 to foster interests in Track and Field and Cross Country in the community and to provide athletes of all abilities with the chance to train and race together. The Club was not originally affiliated with the university but has since changed into a club sport at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Both undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to participate in NCAA DIII and NIRCA (National Intercollegiate Running Clubs of America) races for cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track around the Midwest. The Club has been an official sports club of the university for 9 years and a member of USATF and NIRCA.

Although competition and practice participation is not required for club members it is highly encouraged and a lot of fun. The club has experienced great success in cross country and track. In Cross Country, the club was back-to-back NIRCA National champions in 2008 and 2009. Recently, the men and women both won the NIRCA Great Plains Regional meet. In Track and Field, the men took 2nd place in 2018, 5th place in 2019, and 4th place in 2022 at NIRCA Track Nationals. The women also did very well at NIRCA Track Nationals taking 8th place in 2018, 6th place in 2019, and 4th place in 2022.

Wisconsin Track Club also fosters the interests of track and field in the community. It is a 501(c)(3) non profit so the club is a charitable organization and does make any profit. The club volunteers for many community events such as IRONMAN Wisconsin, RACE, and Ainsley’s Angels. Additionally, the club hosts the Summer Track Series each summer allowing all members of the community to participate in a series of track and field meets in the Madison area throughout the summer.
