End of the year!! 

Practice is officially over for the year!! Thank you to everyone who came out to run, race, and socialize with us. We want to especially thank all of WTC's seniors for all of the joy, hard work, and community that they've brought to this team. You are all so important to making this club what it is, and it will not be the same without you. We will miss you all desperately, and we know that you are off to do incredible things, no matter where you're headed next. Cows Achieve no matter where they are 🥺🥺🥺 we miss you already!

If you're going to be around in Madison, this summer, keep an eye on the Slack for messages about group workouts and runs. WTC is also co-hosting an event next Friday, May 15th at Local Motive at 6:00pm. Run a 5k with a group and stay for the espresso-themed afterparty. The run is free, and the afterparty has a five dollar cover. Sign up for the run can be found here. Also, please come out to help with Summer Track Series!! We had so much fun learning about how to run event this week!!  We'll be hosting meets on Thursday, June 25th, Thursday, July 9th, Thursday, July 16th, and Saturday, July 25th. If you're interested, put your name down on the interest form here. This event is super important in supporting our club, and helps to keep costs and dues low for all of you! We would love to see you out there. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Whitney Sylvester with any questions. I hope that all of your finals went well, and the entire WTC board wishes you a great summer!!!!

Outdoor TRACK SCHEDULE

It's officially time to start outdoor season!! We're so excited to turn left outdoors this season--it's going to be an awesome run of meets! Sign up can be found here. Reach out to meet coordinator Aimon Van Houten with any questions. This is your reminder that you must have signed the NIRCA form in order to race at Nationals. PLEASE sign up to be an authorized driver. The process has changed, and it's pretty easy to be authorized, especially if you're from Wisconsin. We are required to have two authorized drivers per car when we go out of state. You can find information about the process here. Please also note that if you have more than two outstanding Venmo meet fee requests, you will NOT be able to attend a meet until you have paid. Feel free to reach out to treasurer Wil Lackner with any questions. 

  • St. Norbert Early Bird Meet: The Cows kicked off spring break (and outdoor season) with some fantastic times and marks at St. Norbert on March 28th! We're so glad that everyone got a chance to get some outdoor speed in their legs before we travel off to NIRCA Nationals. Congratulations especially to Jonathan Kerby-White, who hopped on up to 8th on the WTC all-time list with a 1.80m high jump. Great start to the outdoor season, everyone! Cows achieve!
  • NIRCA Nationals: Congratulations to everyone who represented the Cows in Olivet this weekend! Our women's team tied for ninth (with only three competitors!), and our men's team took twelfth. Nathan Simon continues his mid-distance speed kick, running a 3:56.52 1500 for 2nd all-time in WTC and 4th overall out of 303 competitors. Felix Boeing and Arlo White splashed on to the 3000m steeplechase all-time list, running a 10:24.44 for 6th all-time and 10:27.90 for 7th all-time, respectively. Caleb Rocha placed 6th in NIRCA with his 13.13m triple jump (also 4th all-time for WTC), and 5th in NIRCA with his 16.03m long jump. Duncan Lawlor jumped 1.82m in the high jump for 8th at the meet. Anneka Cassel proved once again that she's the best thrower this club has ever seen; her 11.33m shotput throw was good for first on the WTC list and second in NIRCA, and her 38.07m discus throw was good for second on the WTC list and first in NIRCA!! Alex Leuhrs rounded out our throwers at this meet, throwing a 36.06m for 2nd on WTC's list. Finally, freshman phenom (phreshman phenom? freshman fenom?) Owynn Garrelts ran an awesome 15:15.13 in the 5k for 4th on the all-time list. Congratulations to everyone! WTC did a fantastic job representing the UW this weekend on the national stage, and we're so proud of all the hard work everyone's put in so far this season.  Results can be found here.
  • Lawrence Twilight Invitational: A little day of the week shakeup can't stop the Cows! On Friday, WTC took on the Big Apple(ton) and came back with a bunch of great performances. Congratulations to Arlo White, who improved last week's 3000m steeple time to 10:13.62, which is good for 4th on WTC's all-time list. Emma Keidl ate the 100m hurdles up, running a 16.92 and taking 3rd on the club's record list, and Lily Hamacher improved her 400 hurdles PR to 61.01.70, breaking her own record! Caleb Rocha gets better every week, this time running a 15.08 in the 100 hurdles and jumping 12.90 in triple to set 3rd and 6th place marks, respectively. Finally, shoutout to Casey Trousil, whose 51.45 400m time is good for 9th on WTC's list! With only two outdoor meets left in the 2026 season, WTC is peaking at such a great time. We're excited to see how things shake out at Drake and in Crazylegs next week! You can find Lawrence results here.
  • Drake Alternative: Despite an absolutely diabolical .date change to Mifflin, some brave Cows trekked it out to UW-Whitewater for some fantastic racing!! Lily Hamacher broke THREE WTC RECORDS: 24.84 for 200m, 56.29 for 400m, and 14.62 for the 100 hurdles. Those 200 and 400 records were already hers--talk about an awesome PR day!! Alex Leuhrs also broke his own hammer record, throwing 34.40m. His 34.69 discus throw also moves him up on the record list to second place. Colin Montayne's 12.43m shotput moves him up to second on the all-time list, and his 27.37 javelin throw also places him second! We're so excited to see all of this hard work paying off, and we're sure to see more of it next week at our last meet of the season!! You can find complete Drake results here.
  •  Uncaged Eagle Open: Had a great time finishing out the season with all of our friends at Lacrosse!! The night was long but it was worth it, especially for our top-ten performing Cows!! Caleb Rocha scored his first WTC record with a 14.77 in the 110 hurdles, and MacClain Boge made into 10th onto the same list with a 16.93. Casey Trousil's 51.60 is good for 9th on the 400 list, and Lily Hamacher gets her fourth (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) record of the season with a 1:00.61 in the 400 hurdles! Sam Moschkau is back from the hamstring reserves bench, and proved it with a 22:83 200 dash (7th all-time). The middle distance boys continue to speed along: Wil Lackner improved his 4th place 1500 time with a 3:59.00, and Aimon Van Houten joins him on the 1500 record list in 6th with a 4:01.74. Lacey Eden makes her WTC debut with two big times: 4:36.89 in the 1500 (2nd on our record list!), and 12:05.32 in the 3000 steeple (also 2nd on our record list!). Lauren Fligge follows up her Field Day mile pr with another awesome time-- 5:06.61 in the 1500 is good for 10th on our list. Jacob Alejandro tried out a new event (I think), and his 10:28.89 in the 3000 steeple is good for 6th all-time! Finally, Anneka Cassel finishes out the year with another record!! Her 11.57 shot throw is good for first place on the WTC list, and her 37.03 discus mark is good for second. Awesome work, everybody!! We had such an incredible outdoor season, and all of your hard work definitely paid off. You can find the rest of the Eagle results here. We'll see you all in fall for cross country!!
  • Congratulations to all of our Cows who ran at the Crazylegs Classic! Congratulations especially to Mason Weber (4th), Owynn Garrelts (6th), Nathan Simon (7th), Aimon Van Houten (9th), and Wil Lackner (10th), all Cows who finished in the top ten overall. It was a fantastic pregame!

Volunteering is great for the club and great for you. If you're interested in running for a board position in 2027, you must have completed five volunteering hours in order to be eligible to run. Here's what we have coming up soon!

  • RACE is back up and running every Saturday at 9am at Picnic Point! RACE participants do a mixture or running, walking, and jogging, so there's a pace for everyone. Meet on the grass in front of the rock wall by the entrance to the trail.
  • Race with Ainsley's Angels at the Run Midtown 5k on Saturday, May 23. We have a free registration link in the volunteering sign up sheet! This is a fantastic way to give back to the community while getting a run in.
  • Register to run the Girls on the Run 5k on Saturday, May 30th, to support our Madison community and get some road racing experience !
  • If you're going to be in Madison this summer, come help out at our Summer Track Series! This is a great opportunity to give back to the greater community and raise a TON of money for the club. Fill out the interest form here, and please note that it's not binding! We'll let you know as soon as we have locations finalized!!
