Moosletter — Week of April 5th!

Outdoor TRACK SCHEDULE

It's officially time to start outdoor season!! We're so excited to turn left outdoors this season--it's going to be an awesome run of meets! Sign up can be found here. Reach out to meet coordinator Aimon Van Houten with any questions. This is your reminder that you must have signed the NIRCA form in order to race at Nationals. PLEASE sign up to be an authorized driver. The process has changed, and it's pretty easy to be authorized, especially if you're from Wisconsin. We are required to have two authorized drivers per car when we go out of state. You can find information about the process here. Please also note that if you have more than two outstanding Venmo meet fee requests, you will NOT be able to attend a meet until you have paid. Feel free to reach out to treasurer Wil Lackner with any questions.

  • St. Norbert Early Bird Meet: The Cows kicked off spring break (and outdoor season) with some fantastic times and marks at St. Norbert on March 28th! We're so glad that everyone got a chance to get some outdoor speed in their legs before we travel off to NIRCA Nationals. Congratulations especially to Jonathan Kerby-White, who hopped on up to 8th on the WTC all-time list with a 1.80m high jump. Great start to the outdoor season, everyone! Cows achieve!
  • NIRCA Nationals: Our beautiful friends are NIRCA have blessed us with a track nationals meet within reasonable driving distance of Madison! This year's national meet will be held in Olivet, Michigan, from April 11-12. It's a great way to get some big competition and have fun at an overnight meet with your teammates. This is a FANTASTIC racing opportunity, and everyone should make it a point to attend! Nationals is always an incredibly fun meet. Sign up is closed.
  • Lawrence Twilight Invitational: If you're looking to get some speed work in before WTC Formal, come on up to the Big Apple(ton) for Lawrence on April 18th. Please note that we will be leaving this meet early to come back for Formal, so you may not be able to compete in events occurring later in the day. Sign up closes Saturday, April 11.
  • Drake Alternative: Come on out to our Friday, April 24 meet at UW-Whitewater! It's a great warm up for Crazylegs the next day and anything else that might be going on... This meet is always a favorite and we always hit lots of PRs here--make sure you sign up before Friday, April 17.
  • Uncaged Eagle Open: A season closer classic! Finish out your finals week with UW-Lacrosse's Eagle Open on Saturday, May 8. This is a fantastic way to finish out another year of college and Track Club, and we hope to see you all there! Sign up closes Friday, May 1.

If you're looking for some other nonofficial WTC races, be sure to check out the Crazylegs Classic on April 25.

Socials

  • Assassin Tag continues to take its victims!! When previously killed players got tagging privileges back, Lauren Fligge wasted no time in tagging out Lauren Tears. Only Jacob Alejandro and Brianna Kiriago remain...
  • A LOT of basketball has been played since I last wrote a Moosletter, and March Madness is nearly over! As of 8:33 on Sunday night, beccaat's Picks 1 leads our group (1310 points with a 1630 max), with Nora Pick 2 in second (no one is more surprised than me--1170 points with a 1490 max), and Eva's Bracket! is in third (1110 points with a 1110 max)! Good luck, and I guess I have to say go Wolverines??
  • Save the date for WTC Formal, happening on April 18th at Monona Terrace. Sign up is closed, but make sure you're checking the formal-2026 channel for other sign ups that close on Wednesday, April 8th.
  • Make sure to sign up for Crazylegs on April 25th! Join the WTC team so that we can all be a part of it together.
  • We have lots more socials coming up! We'll give you more information as soon as we have it.

  • RACE will meet every Saturday at 9am beginning April 11th at Picnic Point! RACE participants do a mixture or running, walking, and jogging, so there's a pace for everyone. Meet on the grass in front of the rock wall by the entrance to the trail.
  • Race with Ainsley's Angels at the Cottontail Classic 5k on Saturday, April 4, and at the Run Midtown 5k on Saturday, May 23. We have a free registration link in the volunteering sign up sheet! This is a fantastic way to give back to the community while getting a run in.
  • Register to run the Girls on the Run 5k on Saturday, May 30th, to support our Madison community and get some road racing experience !
