Elected Officers

Tommy on a track

Tommy Dougherty
President
tmdougherty@wisc.edu
Hey cows! I’m Tommy, your WTC president for 2024. I am a junior from California studying computer science. As a sprinter who loves taking on new challenges, I’ve explored 32 different track events (current PR is 12 events in one meet) and even run cross country – so feel free to ask questions about any of them! My favorite track club tradition is our dynamic variation of the cow. Whether it be cow-print clothes, a milk mile, or moo-ing to cheer on teammates, the cow never fails to bring us together. Outside of the herd, you can find me grazing a field, lifting weights, or conquering Mt. Mendota. Track club has been the main highlight of my college journey, and I am excited to share that experience with all of you this year. Cows achieve!

Matt Cooper | Virtual coach

Hi cows, My name is Matt Cooper and I operate as a virtual coach for the distance squad. I’ve been running competitively for over 16 years and enjoy passing down my coaching knowledge to others. With a background in exercise science and personal training, I strive to blend traditional run training with supplementary strength and mobility work. This allows athletes to compete at their best while staying healthy in the sport. I like to coach because I enjoy helping others discover their love of running and reach their goals. Providing this sense of direction, guidance, and inspiration for others is incredibly rewarding. Let’s have a great season!
