Wisconsin Track Club was founded in 1991 to foster interests in the sports of track and field and cross country and to provide athletes of all abilities with the chance to train together. The club started off as an organization for elite runners in the 90’s and slowly turned into a competitive club sport for University of Wisconsin-Madison undergraduate and graduate students in the 2000’s. Wisconsin Track Club has been an official sports club of the university for 5 years as well as being members of USATF and NIRCA(National Intercollegiate Running Clubs of America) with great success.
The club has had many acheivements in both cross country and track over the years. On the Cross Country side the club was back to back national NIRCA champions in 2008 and 2009. More recently both the men and women took 2nd place at the NIRCA Great Plains Regional meet. On the Track and Field side the men have taken 2nd place in 2016, 1st place in 2017, and 2nd place in 2018 at NIRCA Track Nationals. The women also did very well at NIRCA Track Nationals taking 2nd place in 2016, 3rd place in 2017, and 8th place in 2018.
Wisconsin Track Club also fosters the interests of track and field in the community. It is a 501(c)(3) non profit meaning that the club is charitable and does not take in any profit. The club participates in several volunteering organizations such as Ainsley’s Angels, Ironman, and ACT.
