NEW STUFF

THIS WEEK: ST. NORBERT INVITE

This weekend the Cows are traveling to St. Norbert to compete in outdoor track and field. There are many cows competing in both track and field, so for anyone not competing, make sure to keep an eye out for results.  For those of you competing, make sure you stay updated on the car list, payment, and schedule!

THIS WEEK: INFORMAL

This Saturday is also Informal, the premier awards event of the year! Information on location and time can be found on the Facebook page, along with a link to the award nomination and vote on the theme (which will definitely be denim).

NEXT WEEK: END OF YEAR MEETING AND SURVEYS

Next week Wednesday will be our end-of-year meeting in a soon-to-be determined location. Meeting topics will include bylaws, improving the club, and a general recap, along with many other things! Its going to be a great time, so we highly encourage you to show up!

There will also be a few surveys that are going to be sent out via email or Facebook in the coming weeks. They're just to get an idea of what the club can improve on (workouts, socials, etc.) so please please please fill them out, especially if you have a specific suggestion!

NATIONALS RECAP

Last weekend was NIRCA Nationals! While there were too many competitors to list here, the Cows had a phenomenal showing of track and field prowess against other club teams from across the nation! Men's competitors and results can be found here, and women's can be found here, courtesy of Ryan Diedrich. From his own recap: "Over 150 entries, 31 events, 7 1st place finishers, 4 meet records broken, 3 days away from home, 2 trophies, and 1 speedy Australian" were what was needed to bring home the 1st place team trophy for men and third for women!

Special shoutouts:

First Place Finishers: Colton Davis (400m hurdles), the mens 4x800 team (consisting of Izak Oltman, Evan G Kohl, Nathan Orf, and Andrew Shilling), Michael Fink (shotput), Madi Pape (800, 1500, the women's 4x800 team (consisting of Sara Kaiser, Zoe Panos, Hanna Docter, and Madi Pape) and the women's 4x400 team (consisting of Sara Kaiser, Angie Konicek, Hanna Docter, and Madi Pape)

Lastly, a special thank you for the members who helped plan the trip and make sure the team got there safely!

Thanks to Jing and Lauren's work with our VHH grant, we now have some sick women's team jackets! Jackets will be distributed for the semester/season for a fee of $45. For more info, message Sara Kaiser or Lauren McCay!

OLD STUFF
(to read if you missed last week or enjoy deja vu)

NOW STARTING: TRACK SEASON
As you could probably tell from the rest of the contents of this newsletter, it's TRACK TIME! That means a new season, new workouts, and new members! Therefore, here's some things that you can do:
NEW SEASON: Pay your dues, fill out membership forms, and become an authorized driver (if you haven't already)
NEW WORKOUTS: Stay up to date with the workouts of the week by checking your email for coach's instructions or the Facebook and Herdfinder pages (found in quick links)
NEW MEMBERS: Call yo friends, family members, teammates, etc that like running and tell them about track club. There will probably be some new members for the track season, so be super helpful and point them toward the resources and such that they need! If you are a new member, most of the important links are under "quick links", and if anyone has any questions, just ask a board member or regular member!
